It’s estimated that 300,000 Africans become victims of international human trafficking each year and potentially over 100,000 of these numbers are from Nigeria, with the young Igbo girls constituting the Highest number of trafficked persons in 2018 , 2019 and 2020 from Nigeria to Asian countries. And to us who receives these reports on daily bases, it’s not only dehumanizing but can be traumatizing as well.
Advocates For Global Peace Forum International is in the fore front of the fight against Prostitution and Human trafficking in Nigeria, especially South East Nigeria where the cases are very high and recurring.
We had continued to hold sensitisation/awareness seminars, consultations with various Igbo stakeholders home and abroad , government agencies in South East, trade unions, traditional and religious leaders, NAPTIPs, various country embassies in a bid to check mate this menace
